It’s a new year, a time to look ahead with confidence and commitment. Whether it’s finding work-life balance, landing a promotion, securing grant funding, or submitting your PhD, goal-setting helps us visualise what we want to achieve in the year ahead. It can give us direction, meaning and a sense of accomplishment. But we also know that finding the time, tools and headspace to set meaningful goals can sometimes feel challenging.

To help you get started, we’ve invited STEMM Career Coach Jo Porter to lead an interactive, practical session focused on making 2025 your year of impactful goal-setting.

The session will cover:

• The benefits of goal setting and why it matters for your personal and professional growth
• Fresh perspectives on how to approach goals with less stress and more impact
• Practical tools and techniques to help you craft meaningful, achievable goals
• Strategies to deal with goals not progressing smoothly or easily
• And of course, the chance to ask questions and connect with the wonderful and diverse FW community

If you joined our 2024 Career Transitions Breakfast in Canberra or our Re-energise webinar back in 2022, you’ll know that Jo’s style is warm, engaging and evidence-based. For newbies, we think you’ll love her practical approach full of helpful tips to inspire you to take meaningful action.

This will be an interactive webinar and you’re welcome to participate as much or as little as you like. Feel free to listen in or use this opportunity to ask questions, share your own experiences, and connect with all the wonderful people tuning in. And if you can’t attend the session live, we will share the recording with you afterwards so that you can work through the material at your own pace.

All participants will receive an editable e-workbook to use within the session and to refer back to whenever your goal setting needs a boost.

This session isn’t about adding pressure or striving for perfection—it’s about creating a flexible, inspiring approach to goal-setting that aligns with your values and aspirations.
